Silent Sky Studios is a recording studio in Northeast Arkansas - just 15 miles east of Jonesboro, minutes from Southeast Missouri, and about an hour from Memphis. Silent Sky was founded in 2008 by Jon Goad, the studio's owner/operator. With over 20 years of experience writing, performing, and recording music, Jon can help you find the sound you're searching for.
Silent Sky is a computer-based digital studio with a virtually unlimited number of tracks (999 Audio, 999 MIDI), a variety of outboard rack gear, a large collection of VST plugins, and a great selection of pro quality microphones. We can record up to 16 tracks simultaneously, which is more than enough for tracking all of the players in a live band at once. At Silent Sky, we have the tools and the skills to help you make your musical vision a reality, so contact us today to schedule your first session.
We offer a variety of recording packages along with a standard hourly rate. So, if you're a singer who wants to record your voice over a pre-recorded track, a solo artist with just a voice and a guitar, or a full band with guitars, bass, drums, piano, keyboards, horns, etc., give us a call. Our Tracking Room is 24' x 22'--plenty large enough to accomodate a full band (actually, a couple of bands!). Both our Tracking Room and Control Room feature professional acoustic treatments by Ready Acoustics, for the ultimate in acoustic excellence.
There are several recording studios in and around Jonesboro, Arkansas to choose from, but your music deserves the best. Don't be taken for a ride by a fly-by-night operation that can't deliver quality work, or spend your hard-earned money to record in someone's spare bedroom. For more help in choosing a studio, watch our Youtube video on Choosing a Recording Studio.
A Note about Rates: Unlike many recording studios, our packages are all-inclusive. There are no hidden costs. You don't have to pay an extra rate for an Engineer to be provided, or a rental fee to use a certain microphone, preamp, or other piece of gear. When you're recording in our studio, all of our recording equipment, studio space, knowledge, and experience are at your full disposal. We will do whatever it takes to get the best possible sound for your recording project.
Since every artist and project is different, with unique requirements, needs, and expectations, please contact us to discuss your project, and we will provide you with an estimate to meet your needs and fit your budget. If you are a full band, or artist who has your own backing band, and would like an estimate on one or more Song Production Packages (includes the full production for a song), you can fill out our online SPP Estimator form, and we will provide you with a custom-tailored quote. More details on the SPP can be found by clicking here.
For Song Production Packages, a 50% down payment will be required in advance, and the remaining 50% will be due before the final Master CD is given to the client. For work performed at a negotiated Hourly Rate, no mixed or mastered recording will be released by the studio to the client until payment has been rendered in full.
To make a payment, please go to our Payments Page, choose your item/s and complete the checkout process.
Our DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) is powered by Samplitude 11 Pro--considered the absolute best by numerous Recording and Mastering engineers across the globe. For mastering, we use a combination of the native Samplitude 11 Pro plugins along with the excellent vintage emulations of IK Multimedia's T-Racks 3 Deluxe Mastering Suite. All of this runs on a loaded-to-the-hilt, dual core Dell PC.
Our racks include the pristine A/D/A Conversion of the RME Multiface, the authentic Tube tone of the ART MPA Gold, the crystal clear detail of the Yamaha MLA8, and the transparent and musical compression of the FMR RNC.
We have a sizable collection of professional quality mics, many of which are found in top studios around the world. From the old standby Shure SM57, to the vintage response of the MXL 2003A, to the highly-sought-after clarity of the Oktava MK-012, we're sure to have a mic that works well on your voice or instrument.
Acoustic anomalies such as early reflections, standing waves, and uneven bass response can make even the best voice or instrument sound less than ideal. For this reason, both our Tracking and Control Rooms feature professional acoustic treatments by Ready Acoustics.
